Quang Tri occupies a strategically important geoeconomic position within national and regional trade networks. The province lies along Vietnam's North–South corridor and serves as the eastern gateway of the East–West Economic Corridor (EWEC), a transnational transport route connecting Myanmar, Thailand, Laos, and Vietnam.

Quang Tri benefits from an increasingly comprehensive and well-developed transport infrastructure network, providing efficient connections across road networks, the North–South railway, inland waterways, deep-water seaports, and airports. These advantages facilitate the movement of goods and passengers, reduce logistics costs, and create opportunities for the development of manufacturing, trade, services, logistics, and tourism, meeting the needs of both domestic and foreign investors.

Quang Tri's financial and banking system is relatively well-developed, featuring a diverse network of financial institutions and the presence of numerous major commercial banks.

Quang Tri has an abundant workforce of approximately 912,877 people, accounting for 48.8% of its population, of whom 52.18% are male and 47.82% are female. The proportion of trained workers reaches 48.78% (equivalent to 377,033 people), effectively meeting the workforce requirements of various economic sectors.

Quang Tri identifies administrative procedure reform as a key breakthrough, making a decisive shift from a management-oriented administration to a service-oriented one, with businesses and investors at the center of its investment attraction efforts.

Quang Tri offers a safe living environment, a pleasant climate, and beautiful natural landscapes. Newly developed urban areas are comprehensively planned and equipped with modern infrastructure, creating contemporary living spaces that harmoniously integrate natural green spaces with a wide range of sports, leisure, and recreational facilities.

Quang Tri covers a total natural area of approximately 12,700 km², of which 83.08% consists of hills and mountains. The terrain gradually slopes downward from west to east and southeast, forming four distinct geographical zones: high mountainous areas along the Truong Son Range; midland areas and narrow plains; inland sandy areas; and coastal sandy areas. This diversity of terrain and ecosystems creates various microclimates, providing favorable conditions for agriculture, forestry, fisheries, and the diversification of production models.

Following the merger of Quang Tri and Quang Binh provinces, the newly formed province's tourism landscape has expanded significantly, creating one of the most integrated, interconnected, and diverse tourism destinations in Vietnam's North Central region. The province brings together outstanding assets in World Natural Heritage, historical and revolutionary tourism, cultural tourism, coastal and island tourism, resort tourism, ecotourism, and adventure tourism. These advantages provide a strong foundation for developing tourism into a key economic sector and attracting large-scale, high-quality investment projects.
